Rose Knows TV Debut on "My Escape"
Part 1
posted July 27, 2002

Well, I finally was able to do this, thanks to Orville! After doing research on and off again about how to take professional TV film footage and finding someone with the right equipment. I found that the new technology we use on our home computers with a VHS tape can be edited in less than 15 minutes!

This show, "My Escape" was a new series shot in Toronto. The theme was people who worked during the day and had a passion or hobby during the night. And I think you can guess what mine was. So for those great Toronto male dancers (Freddy, Oscar, Angus, Paul, Mike and many others -- in no particular order) who had "guest spots" with me dancing last summer at Babaluu's just after I got back from Puerto Rico; you, your friends and family are in for a little treat. And for those of you who want to see what dancing in Toronto is all about, you'll get a tiny peek.

Shooting this segment was actually quite nerve-racking, as you have a bright light on you the whole time you're talking so you feel as if you're under a microscope -- even worse than competing or performing. I thought the interview portion was nerve-racking, until the the evening dance scenes at Babaluu's. Usually, I have a blast dancing with my friends, but again, I forgot about the bright lights for the camera and it seemed everyone was watching. Have to admit even the cameraman had a great time that night, I must have changed about 5 times during the night into various club outfits and everytime I asked the cameraman, he would eagerly answer "Yes" and obviously couldn't wait to see what I was going to put on next.
