Grupo Sabroso!
Grupo Sabroso, originally formed in March of 2001, under the Direction of Rene Delgado (from United Salseros) and Bong Gonzales, as an all male dance group. They debuted their first performance at the Detroit Bacardi Salsa Congress in May.

This however changed in June of 2001, when one of the Filipino members (Bong) decided that they wanted to perform for the various Filipino National Day celebrations held throughout Toronto.

This new group was comprised of some of the top Filipino dancers in Toronto. Check out these two groups that will light up the stage with its action- packed shows.

Los Salsomanos Dance Co., under the direction of Jennifer and Giovanni, was an idea inspired after attending the West Coast Salsa Congress in May 2000. They decided to make their dream into a reality and recruited some of the most promising salsa dancers in Toronto to join their team.

Since then, they've performed at various functions around Metropolitan Toronto.

Mambo Theatrix!
Mambo Theatrix was an idea started in March 2001 by Stephanie Gurnon (United Salseros) to work with various dancer-performers in the City of Toronto. She has travelled extensively and performed with the Seaon Stylist Dance Group in LA.

This photo was her first performance entitled "Mission Impossible" with Angus Dirnbeck in April (who is a performer with Los Salsomanos Dance Company and Grupo Sabroso.)

The featured performance is a Cow-Girl Routine with Ivy Cuervo from On Beat Dance Co.

On Beat! Latin Dance Company was founded on January 2001 by Ivy Cuervo.

The idea to create an all women dance company came about during her stay in New York. It was there that she learned the exquisite form of dancing Mambo on 2. Because Ivy was versed on 1, dancing on 2 proved to be a challenge that could only be satisifed by learning and dancing as much as possible.

When she returned to Toronto her ideas had evolved and a vision had been born. That vision was to begin an On 2 dance company that would feature women dancers who would perform innovative and original choreography. And so, On Beat was born out of love and respect for Mambo.

Soles Dance Company!

Mark Del Duca and Nicole DaSilva, founders of Soles Dance Studio, brought together a group of talented students to form the Soles Dance Company. The sixteen dancers that makeup this Company were selected from a competitive audition of over 100 dancers.

The Company's first performance in March 2001 was very successful and well received and has paved the way to numerous bookings for private, corporate and charitable functions.

Strickly Salsa Dance Company (directed by Albert Gomez and Kathy Chaves) was the first dance team to represent Toronto internationally last year at the 2nd Bacardi West Coast Congress in LA (May), the 1st Salsa Convention in Montreal (August), and locally at the 2nd SalsaWeb Convention (April). Strickly Salsa's speed, high energy and complex combinations have won them recognition from the L.A Times, TLN, Univision, CFMT, and Japan TV.

Strickly Salsa has had the opportunity to perform at corporate and private functions for: Tele Latino Network (TLN), The Toronto Blue Jays, Film Festival, Puerto Rican Tourism Board, Fairview Cadillac, Royal Bank, Victor Manuel Concert & Oro Solido Concert, and many others.
