Who is Aventura? From what I could find off the internet, they're a young, upcoming group of New Yorkers who are starting a new concept for bachata. Led by Anthony "Romeo" Santos, the group is made up of youngsters that break the sterotype of bachateros. They bring a fresh, pop style and an image that, if carefully marketed, could break the ground for a future crossover of the introductory stage.

People liked bachata but some didn't accept it, because of the way it was presented. The image of the bachateros was usually, without offending anyone, a person with a guitar, who was not so great looking or had an afro. That's what was usually seen in the bachata scene. That has changed.

From one of their fans... My favorite song from Aventura`s first album is `No Lo Perdona Dios`. This song is not the typical bachata song, it doesn`t talk about love or heartbreak. The singer is singing from the point of view of a young teenage boy who finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant. In the song the guy is excited about the idea of a son, one day he and his girlfriend had a fight and she got an abortion to get back at him. I love this song because it is unique and they are the first bachata teenage band that isn`t afraid to go against the current by singing about a controversial issue. Aventura, with their unique, heart warming lyrics and dreamy looks will make it far, especially here in New York City where they are gaining much deserved fame.
