November 6, 2002 -- Congress Update!

Only a few days until we kick-off the second annual Ottawa Salsa Congress!

We welcome local and international salseros for an amazing salsa experience. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone on stage and on the dance floor. Here are a few last minute reminders.

Congress Workshops:
Great News! All performers are welcome to attend the workshops for free… although we ask for your understanding on the matter of space availability. Please be advised that because of space restriction, the attendees must have priority. Workshops will take place at La Isla dance club.

Competitors:
If you are competing, you must be backstage by 10PM sharp or you may be disqualified. Lots of luck to all!

Performers:
You must attend a technical rehearsal at the performance venue on either Friday (8th), Saturday (9th), or Sunday (10th) night. You are expected backstage I hour before show time. A dressing room will be provided.

Shows performed on Friday or Saturday: technical rehearsal is at 5pm at Tudor Hall.

Shows performed on Sunday: technical rehearsal is at 5:30pm at La Isla.

Instructors:
Please arrive 15mins. before your workshop starting time in order to familiarize yourself with the premises as well as to start your class on time. Each workshop is 1 hour. We cannot afford to start late or run overtime!! La Isla will be divided in two sections. There will be dividers in order to avoid distractions. The DJ will play one song every 15 mins. so that your students have a chance to try what you're teaching on the music. Please pace your teaching accordingly.

Filming:
Filming will not be allowed during workshops and performances. You may film whatever material you learned after the workshop is finished either on your own or with the help of a fellow Salsero(a).

Each performer will receive a copy of their own performance only. If you wish to purchase a video of the whole congress, you will receive a performer’s discount.

Salsa etiquette:
If you have promotional material or flyers that you wish to distribute at the Congress please use the tables provided. If you wish to have a booth, please contact Patricio regarding the cost. Please remember that the students are there to support you, don’t be shy to have a dance with them!

Merchandise:
There will be a variety of goods on sale only on Friday and Saturday night at the Tudor Hall reception area. Booths are still available.

Meals:
For a very reasonable price there will be a Lunch buffet available at La Isla at lunch time on Saturday and Sunday from 1:15pm . Bon Appetit!

So pack your bags, bring your Red Bull and let’s Salsa!!!!!!!!
