Toronto's very first salsa website
written by hardcore salsa dancers
for the Toronto and International salsa community
April 2000 - Present
TOsalsa.com was originally created to:
- Further increase the already growing
popularity of Salsa in Toronto.
- Become a source for salsa dancers,
whether they're just starting out, or have been in the scene for years.
- Help increase Dancers' knowledge of
salsa dancing and music, along with their technical and artistic skills
by providing them with a one-stop dance resource of information.
- Help bring more events and exposure
to the ever-growing Toronto scene.
With the exponential popularity of salsa
in Toronto and around the world, we wanted to help put Toronto on the
map as one of the major salsa destinations in North America, alongside
New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
Meet the co-founders:
How did TOsalsa.com get started?
It all started in the Spring of 1999 from a weekly email which was circulated
to all our salsaholic friends regarding the places to go during the week
and where we were planning to hang out; and as a network source to find
out details about various shows/functions. The weekly email network became
a Toronto Dance Calendar circulated to anyone who didn’t want to miss
out on any event in Toronto or around the world. Since Toronto didn’t
have a major salsa or dance website, we decided to launch TOsalsa.com
in April, 2000, just before the first Toronto Salsaweb Convention, to
help make Toronto a global hotspot to attract great dancers and instructors.
We’re very excited about how quickly we've grown in the past few years
and hope that you will spread the word to everyone who loves to salsa
or would like more information about the growing Toronto and International
dance scene. Let’s make dancers aware that Toronto is a major salsa destination
that can dance almost any style of salsa and on 1 or 2!

his time and efforts to create some of the original art and graphics

out as the correspondent on SalsaWeb and helped us out on the club
section at the start..

write various interviews/articles for our latin music section.

great pics to use from various functions.

a growing International success !
Enjoy your dance around our site, and we hope to see you on the dance
floor!
