My friends and I went salsa dancing in Seattle this long weekend. It's
only 2.5 hrs away from Vancouver, and the scene is definitely more happening
than here. The style is somewhat LA-ish, but many of the male dancers
are Latin-American, so they have their own unique self-taught styles.
One thing to note: there are way more guys than girls in the club. I
would say the ratio is about 6:1, so my friends and I danced all night
and we could barely walk when we got out! I think Seattle is turning
out to be like the Silicon Valley with Microsoft and other big computer
companies based there, a field which has attracted more guys than girls
in the past (now changing of course).
