Good Luck Alexis and Adonis!

January 31, 2001

The Puentes Brothers, Adonis and Alexis are fraternal twins raised in the rural town of Artemisa (60 kilometres southwest of Havana). They grew up playing traditional sones, boleros and guarachas from the time they could hold claves. If you are a fan of Cuban Son, or would like to learn more about this "grass roots" type of music, then you must pick up a copy of this album.

The album works well as a listening CD or for dancing, including some rumba. Warning, it's not your super-fast salsa, but more medium-paced, type of salsa which is perfect for beginner's to practice to.

I consider it great value for the money as it is also an Interactive CD (using Flash for PC/Mac). The album includes lyrics in Spanish and English, a short bio, a music lesson with animated Cuban instruments with descriptions and the ability to hear them, plus a Cuban dance lesson video.

The video for the first single “Oye Rumberito” can be seen on Bravo!, MuchMoreMusic, TLN and on your computer with the enhanced portion of the CD. This has also steadily climbed the charts and reached the number five position on the Latin music charts on MuchMoreMusic.

Note: The website is a "mini" prototype of the Interactive CD but does not contain all the components of the CD itself.
