| August 12, 2003 -- kids involved??? I'm just wondering why there isn't any kids involved in Salsa. I heard they had some talented kids in Puerto Rico competiting. Why isn't there any kids, competiting there from Toronto. It would be nice if someone orginized some stuff for the kids to competite or do shows. If there is something like that, please let me know. I have a daughter that is so good, but I don't know where exactly to start. Thanks, Sharon T. January 3, 2003 -- AGE Hello, I was wondering if there were ever going to be arranging an all ages type night. I am 18 and i have a passion for latin music, yet unfortunately for me, most latin clubs tend to be 19+ only. Thank you PS. I am
especially interested in your Friday/Saturday nights. Thank you once
again -- Ennio October 26, 2002 -- Salsa for Youth and All Ages It is a shame how the younger generation can't show
their talent and eagerness to dance salsa, here in Canada. So many young
talents are out there waitting for an all-ages-night to arise from the
darkness of the dance floor....in response to Hi my name is Natalia i'm 16 years old born in Lima Peru, as a child i was always fasinated with salsa. This summer i'm going to spend time with my mother who lives in Oshawa. I want to go to Salsa classes but i dont know which one to go to? Can you please tell me a place where i can learn how to dance salsa for all ages. Thank-you. The link below might help you, good luck Natalia. October 16, 2002 -- any all ages salsa clubs in TO? I've been taking dance classes for a few months now, and I would really love to go to a club and have some fun with what I've learned. My only problem is that I'm 'under-age', I'm only 18 and I can't seem to find any all-age clubs in TO that are 'salsa-style'! I doubt that there are any, but if you do know of any I would REALLY appreciate it!! thanks, heather Dear Heather, unfortunately, I'm not aware of any right now, maybe one of the Readers may have some information as I don't think our salsa dance scene is large enough yet to support such an event on a regular basis. What would be cool is if the dance school you belong to has an end-of-session dance that would be open to all ages. Rose August
30, 2002 -- Age... August 14, 2002 Hi, I am planning on visiting this coming fall, what is the scene like?? Are there age limits on the clubs or they all ages?? Any advice? Thanks! Maresa Dear Maresa, our scene is hopping, but if you're under 19, then you're out of luck and we don't have any regular all ages parties for latin dancing. For information on our clubs, just click onto the Clubs section at the top of the web page and you'll see a list of clubs and all our hotspots. July 1, 2002 -- I NEED HELP I live in Oshawa and it's to much trouble for my mother
to drive me to Toronto to attend Salsa Classes. Do you know any real
good salsa instructors near oshawa, because Toronto downtown is way
to far. I'm only 16 and just want to have fun in learning to dance Salsa!
Natalia Dear Natalia, I don't have any information on salsa classes in Oshawa, maybe one of our Readers may be able to help you. June 5, 2002 -- all ages clubs Hi, I'm 15 years old, and I'm interested in going to
a dance club, but I'm not sure what clubs are all ages and which ones
are 18+ I'm wondering if you can tell me which ones I can go to and
which ones I can't, Thanxs ~Bria March 18, 2002 -- Age What age would a normal class be? In one of the answers to an e-mail you said that most classes wouldn't be for teenagers. My sister and I want to learn but we're 13 and 17 so do you think we wouldn't be allowed to go and would it be harder because we're younger? thanks -- Imogen Dear Imogen, normally the classes I've always attended are usually average in their 20's and 30's, but if you're parents will allow you both to go to an evening class or weekend class in your area, what do you have to lose by asking the instructors if they have an issue. If you aren't disruptive and eager to learn, I don't think it would be a major problem. I have an interview on the home page about the Young Ambition Dance Co. in New York City where the kids range from about 7 to 21 -- the Director talks about how kids and teenagers pick up new moves like a sponge, so unless you are totally uncoordinated -- you and the instructor may be pleasantly surprised -- Rose Knows |
